I am the Principal Broker of the DreamStreet Team which was started in 2002 with my partner Tina. Since then we have added Cheri and my husband Malcolm. Together we have over 60 years of experience buying and selling real estate in the Portland Metro Area. My team was recently awarded the Berkshire Hathaway President's Club Platinum award placing us in the top 1% of all Berkshire Hathaway teams for the third consecutive year.
I am exclusively a Buyer's Agent (click that link to see what that means) serving Portland and its suburbs.
On the personal side, I live in Aurora in the home we bought in 1994 when my youngest daughter was an infant. Both my daughters are now out of college and on their own. We love living in the middle of the Willamette Valley on two acres just 20 miles south of Portland. The air is clean and life is slow. My favorite pastime is gardening and I have lots of room to plant.
Malcolm and I are big believers in volunteering (not just writing checks) so we support many organizations with our time. My favorite is Tualatin River Keepers where we use our kayaks to help others experience and fall in love with the river. Those that love the river, protect the river. My time is spread between Transitional Youth (a program supporting homeless youth), Cycle Oregon and OSU Master Gardeners.
Working with your spouse (Malcolm handles all the listings) has its challenges, but after 32 years we have almost worked them out. Real estate is a passion and I have been very lucky to have spent most of my adult life in the industry.
I am in the top 2% of all Realtors nationally in terms of sales volume, education and advanced certifications. I am also co-owner of DreamStreet Team founded in 2002, but I began my Real Estate career in 1991. Following is a quick list of my designations and what they mean:
ABR - Accredited Buyer's Representative, only 2% of Realtors Nationally have this. It requires 16 hours of additional education, documented transactions and the passing of a test. This now includes 10 hours of foreclosure and short sale training.
GRI - Graduate Realtors Institute, about 20% of Realtors nationally have this. It requires 40 hours of additional education and the passing of three separate tests.
CRS - Certified Residential Specialist, only 3% of all Realtors nationally have this. It requires a GRI (see above), 48 hours of additional education and the passing of three more tests, along with a minimum of five years' real estate experience and 75 documented transactions. This is the hard one!
STAR - Certified by Earth Advantage and Energy Trust of Oregon as a 'Green Realtor'. This certification requires 16 hours of education and the passing of a test. Less than 2% of all Oregon Realtors have this designation.
